head; interorbital 21⁄2 in head, flat or slightly convex. Scales 30 to 35, transversely 10 or 11, predorsal 21. Dorsal IV-I, 8 or 9; Anal III, 9 or 10; caudal concave, base scaly; pectoral conspicuously shorter than head, 12/5 in head, with axillary scale; ventral 11⁄2. Back olivaceous, below white. Dorsal and caudal dusky or pale. Length 166 mm.

China (Ceylon, East Indies, Philippines*). Liza parva Wu is likely the young, though the presence or absence of pectoral axillary scale not noted. It is noted as follows:

Depth 4; head 4. Snout 5 in head; eye 4, greater than snout, without adipose eyelids; maxillary end exposed; interorbital 1 1/5 in head, low. Scales 30, transversely 10. Dorsal IV-I, 8; Anal III, 9; caudal deeply emarginate; pectoral rays 14, fin 1 1/5 in head; ventral I, 5, fin 13. Dark above, white below. Caudal and soft dorsal tips dusky. Length 77 mm without caudal.
